Tool Announced 2019 Tour 'Fear Inoculum' With Killing Joke
It cannot get any better for Tool fans than witnessing their favorite band dominate the charts. The band recently dethroned Taylor Swift and claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard Top 200. No doubt that the fans are doubly ecstatic. Because if you love Tool, chances are that you don't think of yourself as a Taylor Swift fan. This famous rock band also rules Billboard's Artist 100 for the second week of September.
Their latest album "Fear Inoculum", was finally released on August 30th and since then they have been breaking all records. This is the first band ever that fills all the Rock Digital Songs Top 10 chart with their songs. All five of their albums reached the Billboard 200's Top 20 and iTunes Top 10 simultaneously. Let us recall that every single Tool album has gone Platinum in the US, so it is extremely likely that "Fear Inoculum" will join the trend. The reviews for "Fear Inoculum" have been over the top.
According to Billboard the criteria of selection for the Artist 100 chart is to "measure the artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction" all this in order to rank artist popularity according to all dimensions.
Since 1990, the group's line-up includes drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Since 1995 Justin Chancellor replaced as bassist Paul D'Amour. Tool has so far won three Grammy Awards and broken many records.
Their style is considered Alternative metal, art rock, post-metal, progressive metal and progressive rock. The band first came on the music scene with a heavy metal style on their very first album, Undertow in 1993. They became leaders in alternative metal Ænima in 1996. Their style is one that blends the experimentation of music, strong use of visual arts and places personal evolution at the forefront of their artistry. Their style is particularly free: just review all of lead singer Keenan's onstage outfits: wigs, body paint, bras and suits.
Fans cannot believe that the wait for a new Tool album is over. Maynard James Keenan, actually received death threats over the delay. This album took 13 years to make but now Maynard James Keenan, admits it could have been released in 2011 as it was "fantastic eight years ago."
Nevertheless, it took 13 years and Keenan shared, "I think a lot of it was just that age where you want it to be right and we've had some success in the past and the fear of this thing coming out and not being accepted". He adds that "the fear that it's not as good as it can be — that can be detrimentally crippling."
Bassist Justin Chancellor confided that some of the ideas on Fear Inoculum date all the way back to 1995, when he guested on the BBC's Rock Show With Daniel P Carter on Sept. 1 2019.
So, after this long awaited and very successful album release, fans are thrilled to see the band announce that Tool concert tickets are available. Tool live right after the album that got such raving reviews will be a once-in-a-lifetime-show.
