The Ghost Band is Coming for Your Soul!
Ghost, the Swedish rock band that was formed in Linköping, Sweden in 2006 is on a US Tour.
This band’s name reflects their eccentric on-stage presence. Ghost was formed in 2006, when the leader, Tobias Forge wrote the song "Stand By Him". He said, "This is probably the heaviest metal riff that has ever existed. When the chorus came to me, it haunted my dreams. Every time I picked up the guitar, I ended up playing that progression, and when I fit the words in, it seemed to cry out for a Satanically-oriented lyric." The band is inspired by their love of horror films, operatic drama, church chants, dark gloom and "the traditions of Scandinavian metal" that inspire the band's imagery. Forge then rightfully chose the name Ghost for the group. The group's five instrumentalists are only referred to as "Nameless Ghouls” and wear virtually identical, face-concealing costumes thus adding macabre mystery to the aura of the performance.
Forge stated that as an adolescent he "unquestionably threw my hands into the hands of Satan. He cited a strict stepmother, the alienation he felt at her home, and an even stricter religious schoolteacher for making him run "headfirst into the arms of the devil." He ran devil’s horns first into a musical genre that has been qualified as heavy metal, hard rock, doom metal, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, pop rock, occult rock, and arena rock.
The Ghost band live is as compelling as the devil himself. You will be enraptured by the music and then the ghouls will come for your soul that you will gladly relinquish in exchange for their rhythmic beat.
