Die Antwoord announce 'House of Zef' US Tour 2019

May 23, 2019

Die Antwoord, the hip hop group straight from South Africa, Cape Town is on tour.

Rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser, the male/female duo are touring Europe in June and then Die Antwoord US tour dates start on September 9th at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO.

Die Antwoord means “The Answer” in Afrikaans. In their quest to search for answers they contributed to the evolution of the Zef movement and style. Indeed their style and music are inspired by the South African counterculture movement called Zef, that was inspired by the conflict stemming from apartheid in South Africa. The Ford Zephyr was the favorite car of a group of white South African people and thus this rebellious movement attributed themselves the name Zef. The fashion trend Zef was popularized by Die Antwoord. Yolanda Visser explains Zef style: "It's associated with people who soup their cars up and rock gold and shit. Zef is, you're poor but you're fancy. You're poor but you're sexy, you've got style."
As mentioned by Yolanda Visser on her Instagram post, Zef is not just a look, it’s a lifestyle.

Die Antwoord concerts are very enthralling because the duo has a unique style of music made up of strong language, Visser’s high pitch but extremely bewitching voice and Ninja’s rebellious “Ugly Boy” style. They have just released full-length albums “Mount Ninja and Da Nice Time Kid” and will be released, what they plan to be their final album, next year.

The "House of Zef Tour" includes 18 Die Antwoord tour dates across the US in Salt Lake Cty, Seattle, Portland, San Fransisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, New York and more. The tour concludes with Die Antwoord Boston tickets at the House of Blues. In 2017 fans feared a false rumor that the couple had broken up so Die Antwoord on tour will be a great success. Die Antwoord tickets are very popular; remember Die Antwoord is way more than music: it’s a lifestyle.
