Adapted from the movie of the same name released in 2004, Mean Girls is a musical based on Tina Fey’s book with music and lyrics by Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin, respectively. The original movie was in fact highly inspired by the book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman focussed on the social clique problems in the high-school.

A Sneak Peek into the Story of Mean Girls
A homeschooled girl, Cady Heron who has spent most time of her life in Africa, is sent to the local high school. The high school life turns out to be challenging as she finds herself acquainting with the learning at school and socializing as well as understanding the various cliques. When she finds herself being the target of the notorious clique ‘The Plastics’, led by Regina George - a popular and opulent teenager followed by two other girls, she teams up with her two new friends and drafts a plan. In the process, she becomes more and more popular and the plans become equally less of importance. Will she teach a lesson to these menacing girls or the growing popularity will lead her to be one of them?
Coupled with this engaging plot is the hilarious music and the modern twists like the use of Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook by the Plastics as their weapon, this 13-year-old musical brings the charm of original into the present day.
